Occupational Therapist

We are looking for exceptional Occupational Therapists to join our team.
Levaro has full-time or part-time positions available for the right candidate. Our team will consider applications for both early-career and experienced Occupational therapists passionate about supporting adults living with physical and neurological disabilities.

We seek an early career Occupational Therapist passionate about working with adult clients supported by the NDIS or icare insurance schemes. 

We are looking for applicants that are passionate about finding functional solutions for clients living with physical and neurological conditions and are looking to progress their careers and specialisations.

The assessments and supports we most frequently work with include: 

  • Facilitating the provision of complex and non-complex assistive technology

Our team is looking for early career or new graduate OT's

  • AHPRA Registration (no restrictions)

  • A commitment to a client-centered approach

  • For an early career OT, we seek a minimum of 4 years experience working as an OT; preferably, we seek an OT who has worked with people with disabilities across the neurological area of practice.

  • Excellent skills in collaboration and demonstrated skills in working in partnership.

  • A commitment to the inclusion and participation of people who have a disability within their local and natural communities

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • A commitment to continued learning and development of new skills and capabilities

  • A commitment to using evidence as a basis for practice

  • Appropriate clinical experience 

  • Understanding of the rights of people with a disability

  • Experience in making recommendations for complex AT

  • Experience or a desire to learn how to complete a MAT assessment and perform pressure mapping

  • Confidence to work independently as well as collaborate and contribute to our team.

  • Must have a current Drivers Licence and willingness to drive as per role requirements

  • Must have an NDIS worker screening check clearance

  • Recent police check

Levaro Neurological Rehabilitation Centre

In May 2023, Levaro opened our new Neurological Rehabilitation Centre with 270 square meters of well-equipped air-conditioned gym space. The largest of its kind in the Newcastle and Lake Macquarie area. 

The centre is equipped with 2 specialised treatment rooms and contains state-of-the-art rehabilitation equipment, including a Moto Med, Lite Gait treadmill, Roof-mounted hoists, A Pilates Trapeze Table, Pilates reformer, Pilates chair, Motorised parallel bars, recline bikes and weight lifting racks and equipment. 

What we are looking for: 

Someone who loves working as a Physiotherapist and is passionate about making a positive difference in the lives of individuals with a disability.

  • Assessment, recommendation, and meal time management plan development in consultation with Speech Pathologists from mainstream medical services, medical specialists, and other allied health disciplines.

  • Conduct assessments and provide recommendations on the functional impact of disability on positioning, eating, and swallowing.

  • Assessment, prescription, and recommendation of AAC (augmentative and alternative communication) systems under the NDIS and other external funding agencies; this includes the preparation of funding applications

  • Develop training packages

  • Manage a caseload of clients in their natural settings who may present with increasing complexity, multiple co-morbidities, and functional limitations across multiple areas of their life.

  • Utilise a strengths-based, client-centered approach to support clients in identifying their goals and utilise a capacity-building approach.

  • Ability to work in a collaborative multidisciplinary team focused on achieving optimal client outcomes while meeting clinical targets.

  • Ability to write reports to a high standard that meets the client's needs.

  • Liaise with and provide therapy and progress reports to the NDIS, Support Coordinator, external organisations, and other referrers/funding bodies as required.

  • Currently registered with Speech Pathology Australia

  • A commitment to using evidence as a basis for practice with over three years of appropriate clinical experience
